Maddie McKenney

Maddie McKenney is 10 years old and from Cullman, AL.  She plays fiddle and sings lead and harmony vocals with her family band, The McKenney’s and the bluegrass/gospel group Chapel Grove.  Maddie has been around bluegrass and gospel music all of her life.  At the age of 3, Maddie would stand on the piano bench at church and sing while her mom played.  When Maddie was 7, she heard a family friend play the fiddle.  Soon after, she had a fiddle of her own and began taking lessons from the amazingly talented Deanie Richardson.  She has been playing ever since.  Maddie and her family have really enjoyed competing at festivals over the past two years. Maddie has won several awards and made tons of bluegrass friends! In her spare time, Maddie enjoys going to church, reading, playing basketball, and spending time with her friends and family.
