"Hello, I'm Hunter McBride.  I live in a small town called Pisgah, Alabama.  I love God, my family and bluegrass Gospel.  My family has gotten me through a lot, and every day I thank God for them both." - Hunter McBride

Hunter McBride is 18 years old*  from the little town of Pisgah, Alabama. He started playing about 12 years ago beginning with old country. As Hunter got older, he began listening to Earl Scruggs and Doyle Lawson and fell in love with bluegrass music. When he was 12 years old in 2009, Hunter lost his house in a house fire that took all of his guitars, banjos, and mandolins with it. He soon got more because he simply couldn't live without. Then on April 27, 2011, a tornado destroyed his house, again losing all his instruments. Hunter's assistant principle gave him a guitar days after the disaster. Hunter now has plenty of guitars and continues playing even after all his tough luck. The Lord is still allowing him to play and, he now plays guitar, mandolin, bass, piano, and a little on the banjo and fiddle. Hunter's family is big in his life and God is his number one inspiration. He plays at his church, which his dad pastors, and at the nursing home every first and second Sunday of the month. Hunter's favorite quote is "If you loose all your stuff and you still have God, you have everything," and "Never stop playing no matter what."
